Silly Saturday

I'm going to brave the dolmuş this morning and head off into Milas.  It rained yesterday and this morning the sun is out and I need to be out.  I'm hoping the bus won't be as packed  as it was on Tuesday.  I wonder why people don't seem to mind being on overcrowded vehicles.
A bus in Pakistan
A train in India

Not sure where this is, but it's something often seen in Turkey.

  1. I wouldn't fancy being on any of those vehicles! Good luck with the bus.

  2. I suppose if you really must travel, you'll put up with almost anything. Hope it's not too packed today.

  3. The photos are frightening. I've traveled a lot but the worst I ever saw was about six people on a moped in the DR. Madness! I don't know how they do it. I'd rather walk. good luck tomorrow

  4. Yup, the motorbike is not uncommon here either...and what gets me is that the traffic police, always ready to hand out fines at the slightest opportunity, just smile and wave them on....they know the family has no other way to get where they're going.

  5. It amazes me because of Britain's strict rules on Health & Safety! (Some times taken to the extreme.)
The overcrowded conditions on those vehicles does make good photos though.

  6. I hope your trip to the city was less stressful. Enjoy the nice weather.

  7. Oooh. Train one looks pretty scary. If the mothers of the three guys on the front saw this, they'd be very upset.
