This is what I'm going to miss

It's my last day in England.  I've woken up early as usual and this morning I'm feeling very emotional. It's been a great visit.  I have experienced such joy in the company of my daughter and two beautiful grandsons...and I don't want it to end.  But of course it has to.

I'm off to my daughter's this morning and will stay there until tomorrow morning.   I will spend my last day playing with Billy, helping with Jimi....and if I can I will volunteer the night feeds so that my daughter and son-in-law can get some much needed sleep.  I don't mind missing my sleep tonight, even though I'm travelling tomorrow.  I can make up for it when I get home.  I just want to savour every last moment with my grandsons.

And this is what I'm going to miss:

  1. I'm glad you had such a good time. You were not just a guest either. It sounds like you contributed at time that this help was much needed.
This summer's going to be very different than last year, from all you've told me. So, there's no reason to be too blue about leaving. You'll return before you know it.

Have a safe and uneventful return trip to Turkey. Do you fly into Izmir or Dalyan or what? Drop me a line when you arrive, please.

  2. Ayak....... I really feel for you because I know just how that feeling is. Saying the goodbyes and missing the grandchildren when you go.

I am sure that they will have all really appreciated your visit and will look forward to the next one. No one can take the place of a much loved Grandma.

Have a safe journey and looking forward to hearing about your stay in your friend's home. Your dogs will be wild with delight at seeing you again.

  6. Jimi looks adorable - they both do. I know exactly how you are feeling - it is sad, there is no denying it but just think how lucky you were to be there for the birth and all the excitement. You will find that back in Turkey, everything is really green and lush and at last the temperature has started to rise so life is looking good. Take care.

  11. Such lovely photos, Ayak and glad your visit went so well. Of course you'll miss them, but there will be more visits in the future and at least you've had a whole month to get to know them better.
