Meet the Izzards

Has anyone else been watching this  programme on BBC?

"Comedian and actor Eddie Izzard embarks on a unique, epic and personal journey using his own DNA to trace the migration of his ancestors out of Africa and into Europe."

I may have overlooked this particular programme if perhaps it had been made with someone else...a geneticist for example, as the subject.  But I have always adored Eddie Izzard and his particular brand of humour and the way he views life, so I tuned in before I knew what the programme was actually about.

I'm very pleased I did because it is not only fascinating, but amazing to think that such an experiment would not have been possible as little as 5 years ago.

Well worth watching.

    1. Hi Sarita. You should be able to get it on BBC iPlayer, or check out Watch Series online..it has both episodes. Yes thinking about Cake or Death amongst other sketches has just made me laugh out loud.

  4. Hi Ayak!
Have not seen it but definitely will catch up with it on iplayer tonight.
Maggie tells me too that it is great and Eddie Izzard says he is related to lots of Neanderthal Men LOL. Must be something to do with the name Eddie ROFL.

    1. Well it seems there could be a little Neanderthal in all of us Eddie. I think the whole subject of DNA is fascinating and this programme is quite mind-blowing to me.

    1. It is a fairly serious programme in a way Carol, but somehow Eddie manages to inject his unique humour into it x

    1. He is a one-off Erica. A genius in my opinion. It's the kind of humour you either love or hate. I think you would find video clips on youtube of some of his sketches from years ago. iPlayer is catch-up TV here in the UK. I don't think Mr A would find Eddie Izzard funny to be honest. Turkish humour is quite different, more slapstick I think x
