When a blogger disappears

We meet so many people through blogging, and get to know some more than others. Particularly those who regularly read and comment on our blogs.  They become friends and part of our little blogging community.

So I am always a little concerned when one of them suddenly disappears.

I know some of you will know Erica who always posts comments on my blogs, and you may, like me, also follow her blog Sweet on You.  Erica hasn't posted anything on her blog since February, and she hasn't commented on my blog during that time either.

I have emailed her a couple of times, but had no response, so I wonder if any of you might have heard from her.  Maybe she has just given up on blogging, but I'd very much like to know if this lovely lady is OK.

  1. I can't help, I'm afraid, Ayak, but I know just what you mean. I've seen bloggers and also forum members suddenly vanish without explanation and if we like what they write, we can't help being concerned.

    1. It's particularly noticeable Perpetua when it's someone who visits regularly.

  2. I wonder sometimes if those regular bloggers we read realise how much they mean to us sometimes. Hope you get news.

  3. She was due to visit Turkey about now and I hoped that you and I could maybe drive up to Selcuk and meet up with her when she visited Ephesus, but I haven't heard from her for ages.

I wish I could help with an answer but I don't know this lady.

  7. Hi Ayak.....I'm really deeply touched that you were worried what happened to me. It means a lot to mean and some of the other Bloggers who wrote nice comments.
I was away for 6 weeks......first in Paris for a week. The internet in the hotel was horrible....gorgeous Hotel but the WIFI wasn't good. Most of all with trying to cram everything possible to see, by the time we got back and it was so late that I would knock right out, once in my street clothes. The 12 hour walking a day was very tiring.
Then for a month in Turkey......that was even worse. My husband was having his place renovated so going to pick stuff out was annoying most times. The workers are not as they are here in Toronto, mostly they don't keep their time too well........Everyday some relative or friend would come over and sit all day and talk, they missed us I guess.... as for Efes....yes we did go..... just for one day, with a group of my husband's friends and sister .......so I didn't want to contact you or B&B. They were making me run through the ruins as it was scorching hot that day......
Didn't make it to Bodrum.....just stayed around Izmir mostly and the ruins around and Istanbul.........and spent time in Bergama, my husband's home town….. b/c my husband did a memorial for his Mom and picking out the monument till they finished it took forever.
After all this we went to Rome.......for 3 days I had to cram more sight-seeing in again.....with 12 hours of non-stop walking I was dead tired everyday. But the Pasta and Pizza were yummy.
I just got back and tomorrow we are driving my daughter to the US for school...which is about a 6 hour drive to Philadelphia.

Mostly like I said I stayed away from the computer.....too dead tired and bad connections and basically no time to do anything.

Thank you again Ayak, so sad I didn't get to see you and B&B, but maybe next year, I’m coming back for sure.. This time around was quite hectic .....

    Erica…XOXO

    1. Hi Erica! Well I have to say I am very relieved to hear from you. I was dreading that something terrible had happened to you. My goodness, your trip makes me exhausted just reading about it. You will need another holiday soon to recover.

Yes it's a shame we didn't get to meet but there's always next time.

But most of all it's great to hear from you again...welcome back xxx
